Sunshine and seashells
May wears white - the rowan, cow parsley and guelder rose all decorate the hedgerows as if for a wedding. The stunning sunshine highlights each new leaf in high definition. The birds shout - life shouts - it's a joy to be outside.
The calling birds include two nightingales singing in areas I've not heard them before, which is a real positive for such an endangered bird.
The skylarks have been spectacular, high over the chalk downland. I'm learning to love the chalk as much as the Wealden woods - I still get a dizziness in perspective when I pick up fossilised sea shells from the high hills behind my house.
Find the green and white, find the joy. See you in the woods and hills.
