Oak Folk is a home education group for 9 -13 year olds, meeting monthly in term time, all year round. We use the private woods at Folkington and Abbots Wood in Arlington, together with a handful of downland sites. We examine areas of the countryside ecosystem in more detail, using maps and navigation, plant biology, animal adaptation, practical maths, historical sources and evidence, art and design and literary skills.
We meet on monthly Tuesdays 1.30-4pm all year round during term time. This might increase to fortnightly, if we can fit it in.
The group size is limited to 8 children, plus carers, so there is plenty of one-to-one teaching. It's £10 per child, adult free.
We provide hot and cold drinks, but bring a snack if you like. We quite often light the campfire!
This group is provisionally fully booked, but you can ask to be on the waiting list - contact Sarah on 07887 556336 or [email protected].
